The new via ferrata Les Cordes is a medium – easy via ferrata located above the village of La Villa, inside the Puez – Odle Natural Park. Built in Autumn by the mountain guides Alta Badia Guides, it will be inaugurated next summer.
The route follows in part the ancient direct path that the farmers of La Villa used to bring the cows to the Gherdenaccia plateau and called “les cordes” (which in Ladin means “the ropes”).The via ferrata can be reached from La Villa in about 45 minutes (path 11, or 5A and 11B) or from the top station of the Gardenaccia chair lift (about 5 minutes until the starting point).
This route concentrates the difficulties in the initial section, with an easier second part and several resting points.
In about an hour and a half you reach the end of the cable and in another 15 minutes the beautiful Gardenaccia refuge.
The descent along path 5, more direct and which allows you to return to the chair lift, takes about an hour. Alternatively, in about an hour and a half you go down to the village; in this case is better along the path number 11.It is a short itinerary, ideal for days with uncertain weather or during the start and end of the season, when other via ferrata at higher altitudes are covered by snow.
