Wednesday, just before the hot temperatures of these days, we skied a nice combination of couloirs in the wild north side of the Sella group: Le Mesules north couloir and the north couloir of the Pitl Ciampanì de Murfreid. The first couloir was in very good snow, but was hard to enter because of the big cornice at the top.
After the first couloir we traversed left and, with a complicated route-finding and one abseil, we reached our second couloir on the est side of the Pitl Ciampanì de Murfreid. Here the snow was a bit wet, but perfect for skiing. After the first part, not to hard, the couloir is very steep and narrow and required a short abseil to pass a small cliff.
A great day with Norbert and Alberto.
