The Sasso di Valfredda 3009 m. is a summit facing the huge south wall of Marmolada and located just above the San Pellegrino pass. Yesterday I saw it from Punta Rocca and I thought that the conditions of the north face were good… so today we climbed from Malga Ciapela to have a try, and I was right!
The face was in soft snow, but not too deep: perfect for climbing and perfect for skiing, and, because of the clouds, the snow was just perfect all the way down.
Only the light was bad during the descent, not bad for skiing, but orrible for taking pictures…
