The Presanella north face is a classic steep skiing line of the Eastern Alps (5.3/E2) and it’s not easy to find it without ice.
After the Gran Paradiso north face, we slept in Milan and Sunday morning we started moving Est. With our heavy backpacks the approch to the Rifugio Denza winter room was quite tiring, but the conditions of the face were perfect! At the bivouac we met Bruno (Compagnet), Simone and Matteo with our same goal, so we decided to go together.
Monday morning we started early and we climbed the face with cold temperatures and a strong wind in the upper part, but with warm sun and no wind on the top! After a nice rest to enjoi the view and relax our legs, we jumped in to the face finding good conditions (only some sections with hard snow, but no ice).
A really great steep skiing day and a wonderful team of friends!
