Last week-end we climbed the normal route of Mount Pelmo, one of the 3000 m peaks of the Dolomites. It was a great climb with sun and clouds and a new great adventure with Will and Jim after our Mont Blanc 2 years ago.
Saturday we reached the rifugio Venezia 1946 m from the village of Zoppè di Cadore 1460 m and we climbed the easy Mount Pena 2196 m in the afternoon (lot of clouds and hard rain coming back to the hut). Sunday we started few minutes after 6:oo am and following the Jhon Ball route we reached the summit at 9:45 am. We were back at the hut at 12.45, just in time for a wonderful pasta!
A special thank to the friendly staff of Rifugio Venezia for the perfect hospitality.
