Kazakhstan ski trip 2015: the photos of an exploring skitouring trip in the Zailiyskiy Alatau mountains, Tien Shan.
We arrived in Almaty the 12th of April and we had two sunny and warm days, perfect to acclimatize, climbing and skiing between 2000 and 4000 m.
Then the plan was to go up to the T1 station for the rest of the week, to ski in altitude, but the weather was orrible, so we had to change program and we went to visit Almaty city, the Assa valley vineyards and we had a nice and long trek in the wild Charyn Canyon.
Finally on Friday we were able to ski again, organizing an heliskiing day for the only sunny day previewed… we had a very good skiing in deep powder, but nothing steep because of the high avalanche risk. With a final skitouring traverse we finished our trip in this interesting area, with beautiful mountains and many possibilities.
