Spring began with alternating days, first very warm, then with particularly low temperatures and wind. The snow, mostly compact and also icy, is very safe and suitable for technical ascents on steep terrain, but it is not the best for descents… except in the couloirs and steep slopes more exposed to the sun, where, at the right time, the snow warmed up by the sun, allows good descents.
Now it seems that in the next few days new snow will finally arrive and the conditions could improve significantly to give us a nice end to the season.
In the meantime, here is a summary of some of the peaks and lines we have climbed in recent days.
