Some images of a short trip to the highest peaks of the Central Apennines.
The Gran Sasso group, in the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga Park, offers many possibilities for walking and climbing, with quality rock and very ‘Dolomite’ terrain. All around, however, the terrain is softer and greener, typical of the Apennines and, if you are lucky, you can see the sea (both Adriatic and Tyrrhenian), from its highest peaks (which are over 2900 m high). Unfortunately, we did not have clear skies due to the high temperatures and the presence of humidity in the air, but we did walk some normal and via ferrata routes, which are absolutely recommended.
